That’s a nice picture of the hong kong island skyline. Don’t know if you noticed, but during the day, you can barely see anything across the victoria harbour anymore because of air pollution.
You mentioned you didn’t see too many non-Asians during your trip, which is kind of surprising. Did you have a chance to visit “Lang Gwai Fong” in Central, HK? That’s where all the ex-pats hang out. A lot of them speak really good mandarin or cantonese. I’ve once met a guy who looked completely caucasian, but when I tried to speak with him in English, he responded with perfect, no accent cantonese. =)
I did notice the poor visibility in Hong Kong and Macau, but I chalked most of it up to fog (it was fairly damp most of the days I was there).
Hong Kong was where I saw by far the most Asians (mostly tourists), I expected a few more ex-pats, but otherwise wasn’t particularly surprised by HK. Taipei (and Macau) were far more surprising.
